Pool Installation on a Slope

I do have a question though. When it rains, does the water not get between the retaining wall and the ground that's against it? Is that bad?

That wall has been there for around 15 years and we have never had an issue. Those are individual stones that sit on top of one another with a lip to keep them together so it is not a solid piece. Any water that was behind the wall would leak out into the area where the rocks are and into the pipe.
