holes in hoses

what is the best way to check for holes in kreepy krauler hoses. I am looking for the source of air into the pump/filter and only have air when the kreepy is installed. I rebuilt the ortega valve so I have no leaks there and so my next step is the hose sections. Will they spray when the hose is pulled out of the water or should I hear suction noises??
