    Default Kiddie Pool owner looking for direction

    Hi guys. I'm currently draining my 15' Easy-Set "kiddie pool" (that I filled yesterday) to more perfectly level the ground underneath it. But in the meantime, I took some measurements with my WalMart test kit and thought I'd post here for some guidance.

    The pool is supposed to be about 3100 gallons, and I'm filling it with well water. Here's what my numbers look like:

    pH = 7.2
    Total Alkalinity = 210-220ppm
    Total Hardness = 250-260ppm

    So, once I get the ground leveled and the pool refilled, where should I start? Should I use Ben's acid/aerate method to lower the alkalinity?

    I assume that after I get alkalinity where I want, if ph is still at 7.2, I'll want to bring it up a bit with some borax, yes?

    And I'm guessing I should shoot for 30-40ppm CYA and maintain chlorine about 3-5ppm, with maybe a touch of polyquat as is recommended in the kiddie pool page.

    Thoughts for me?

    Thanks
