Default How to stay underwater without scuba gear?

Pool leak I believe caused by vacuum pulling out vinyl patches made some years ago by American Leak Company. I need to go down and re-patch back what the vac took out. How can I breath underwater for longer than I can without scuba gear. I know it is hard but anyone?

how far down is the spot where you need to patch?

I just puttied a light conduit in the deep end. I only had to go down about 4 feet so I kept going up and down each time I needed air.

You have probably solved your issue by now, but just in case:
We have never repaired a leak, (knock on wood), but when we need to check something out, we use weights in the pockets of shorts to stay down and use plastic tubing for breathing.
