Default Adding salt without a SWCG

I would like to add salt to my pool just for the water softening aspect. What ppm should I raise the salt content to?

Whatever is comfortable for you. SWCGs normally target 3000ppm to function optimally so that's a reasonable target. Sea water is far saltier.

I keep mine at about 3000-3200 and love the feel of the water and lack of any eye irritation. Just make sure your equipment is compatible.
