    Unhappy Drain...or no drain?

Do we have to have a drain in our pool? It will only be 5 feet deep. I am totally afraid of drains. Don't ask why, but I am. Had one before in our old pool, and never went in the dep end.

You don't "have" to have a drain but it is a good idea for cleaning the pool, etc. When the plumbing is done for the pool make sure you have an adjustable (jandy or otherwise) valve so you can 'cut back' or turn off the main drain during swimming.

I guess I just hate the cover and how it looks down there.

I chose not to have a main drain on my pool....only six feet deep. I have never regretted that decision.
