    Start with 500lbs of salt and that will give you a ppm of about 2000. If you think you want a bit more then add about 1/2 a bag at a time till you get it where you like it.

    Be sure you get at least 99.6% pure water sofner salt pellets. Don't add rock salt or anything with "Iron Out". Lowes has 40# bags for around $4.00.

    Yes, it takes 10-15 minutes to dissolve roughly 1/2 a bag. If you have a main drain, you can poor it into the pool and sweep it up around the drain.

    just dump it into the pool and brush. it dissolves very fast. You can even get in the pool and kick it around to help dissolve it....let the pump run for about 24 hours and you are done.
