    Default pool plumbing and design

Hello, Looking for some feed back on the best way to plumb our 18x36 inground vinyl pool. We have two skimers and am looking to figure out the returns. It appears that most people have two returns and maybe a seperate dedicated line for a pressure side side cleaner. Using 1 1/2 pvc with a 1.5 HP super pump and sand filter. Talking with my father in law ,who used to build pools, he says one return is plenty and if I want another that we should make it the line for the the boster pump and cleaner. He says one return will help the flow of circulation. He usually knows what he is talking about but i wonder if he is out of the loop on this one. Any feedback thanks Chris

I have IG 22K Anthony & Sylvan pool with 2 returns, 2 main drains, 1 skimmer, 1 pressure cleaner line plus drains/jets in spa. I believe Sylvan pools (older ones) all had two returns side by side aiming towards the deep-end. Thats my config for an FYI and I am not sure but I would think more returns are better as long as they are directing the water flow in the proper direction.
