Default Pool heater with pump control

    Good Day All-

    I hope you are well.

I may have asked this last year but cannot find it. I have an old(2007) Jandy Jxi heater that has the ability to turn off and on my pump at certain times. Are there any heaters today that offer the same kind of functionality? Or do I need to look at a pump that can control the heater like the new Hayward line or maybe a totally separate automation system?

    Best regards, Tony

Almost any heater can be wired to do so . . . though few pool guys or electricians know how.

Most automation systems can do so. You'll want to keep it simple, however. There seems to be an association with number of types of control interfaces (computer, phone app, tablet app, remote device, pump room panel) and problems. Fewer control interfaces seems to equal more reliable function.

And . . . MAKE sure someone in YOUR area SERVICES the type you get. A lot more dealers can 'install' them, than can service them!
