    Hi, gitchesum,

Well, you're off to a flying start!

Why don't you test your fill water before you start it in and post the results. That'll give us a chance to opine and keep your water sparkling all Summer.

We'll probably recommend some Clorox about 1/2 full and maybe then a couple of other things as you get filled up and get your water circulating.

Be sure to post your gallonage and the type of pool. You probably did the right thing and your work load will be pretty simple from here on.

Lot's of folks use the pucks SPARINGLY and I'll bet you can put together a plan to use some of them yourself....welcome!

    Hi, Curtis,

Thanks for the numbers. You're lookin' pretty good. Can you circulate from a main drain and shut off the skimmers? That way you could circulate immediately and get some Cl in there.

If you can't, I'd still put a gallon or two of bleach in while you're filling...just stir it around and mix it well as it goes in.

As soon as you can circulate thru your skimmers, I would suggest you chlorinate with Cal Hypo. You will eventually want your CH level (hardness) up around maybe 250.....you'll kill two birds with one stone with the Cal hypo.....Don't be afraid to get 50 lbs at a good price...you'll use that much thru the Summer.

pH is fine. You'll need to get the alk down a little but there's no real hurry. You might read up on lowering alk over in that forum.

I've got a clorinator with tablets still in it. I can run the filter through the main drain only and through the clorinator so that might be a way to get the CL numbers up while it fills.

It sure fills a lot slower than it drained, that's for sure.
