    Angry Haywood Pump Loud

Our pump was leaking and we replaced the gaskets and seal. The pump has been extremely loud last year and is still really loud, too loud for the neighbors. Is there grease or a gasket that goes between the ceramic parts. What is the problem

    Welcome to the forum.
Could very well be motor bearing noise. However, something else, could be air in the pump basket. If you are sucking air into the system that will make quite a bit of noise too. To check, drain the pump basket, this could be as simple as opening the lid and letting the water drain back through the skimmer, then fire the pump for a few seconds, dry, and see if the noise is the same. If it is, then the bearings are the most likely suspect. Sometimes bearings just get noisy and don't fail for a long time.
