1. I opened the pool 10 days ago and over that time added 7 boxes of Borax. pH would go up to 7.8 but drop right down to 6.8 (or lower) after 24 hours. I was also adding 174 oz, 6% bleach at the same time, CL also droped to about 0 after 24 hours. I was expecting pH to stablize around 7.6?
2. A big dose of chlorine sounds right, how much?

4. The pool guy said to add CYA by gradually releasing it via an old gym sock placed in the skimmer. I did this but CYA number hasn't increased.
