    Default Pump/motor oddity

I switched off the pump to add tabs to the chlorinator. It was running just fine. Filled the chlorinator, switched the pump back on and ...nothing. Motor just hummed and tripped the breaker. Tried a couple of more times-same thing. Any ideas to hel pwould be appreciated. If I need a new pump, I'd understand. The pump is pretty old, but the motor is newer.

    Thanks guys ( and ladies).

Thanks for the help. As soon as it quits raining I'll give it a hit.( I like that idea just on sheer principles). It's due for replacemnt anyway-I think it's about 16 years old. It came with the house and pool and I've been here fifteen years.

    Thanks again- Al
