    Keith,

If your water is sparkling, I'd say you're in fairly good shape.

If not, then I'd shock (up to about 15-17ppm) with bleach and get Combined Chloramines (CC's) out of your pool.

I'd shock now if it were my pool but, certainly, if the CC's ever test greater than 1.0.

    Poorly worded sentence....sorry. Should've written:
....TO get Combined Chloramines (CC's) out of your pool.

thanks dave, will add chlorine after test to determine how much to add by using the bleach cal. How long should I keep the shock level up to 15ppm and how often should I recheck the cc? thanks

Based on your good pool conditions, I would raise Cl to 15 or so ppm after the Sun is off the pool. The next AM, test again..... your Cl will probably have dropped noticeably and the CC should be zero.

If so, let your Cl drift back down into the maintenance range (3-6ppm) on it's own.

PS - don't be concerned if you still show .5 CC.....that seems to be somewhat normal and I wouldn't worry. My bet is you'll be at zero, however.

Another thing, check your numbers. If your FC is 4 and CC is 1, than your TC is 5
