    Sorry, I should have mentioned that we we're having the leaking and air in the pump problems before we replaced it. We replaced it because it had a huge crack inside. It has just recently gotten much worse within the past few days.

    Also, there is no water leaking around the pump or filter. They are located in the garage and the floors have been dry.

    If it's a main drain pipe that is cracked most likely a dye test will prove it. Dye is the way a lot of leaks are found. You didn't say anything about the leak rate but air in the lines does indicate a suction side leak. Dye can find pretty small leaks if done carefully and correctly and especially if you have an idea where the leak is located. As for the cost, I have no idea.
