Default Adding bleach to the skimmer

I use Sun Sticks in my skimmers to maintain my chlorine levels, and have had good luck, just occasionally needing to add some bleach to raise levels (or to shock). I generally add the bleach to one of the skimmer baskets, and now as I read this forum I wonder if that is a mistake.

I am referring to comments about potential chemical reactions when adding bleach to systems with Chlorinators. Should I be removing the basket that has the Sun Sticks in it before adding bleach? Or is there no risk of a reaction?

BTW, great site. I've learned a ton by reading things here. Thanks.

you should probably not add bleach to a skimmer that has another form of chlorine in it.
A known bad combination is Trichlor and Calcium hypochlorite

So if I pulled out the skimmer basket wtth the Sun Sticks in it and then added bleach, do you think it would be OK?
