    Be aware that pool companies charge more for a deeper pool. Here in central FL - they consider a "normal" depth of 5' - with a premium for anything additional. We went with a 6' on a 15X30 pool.

    Nothing is "normal" in an in-ground pool, except contractors want it easy and fast, and want you to pay out the wazoo for anything and everything fancy. That's the ONLY thing that's normal.
