Default ? about # of returns needed

For a small 3800 gallon inground rectangular gunite pool with 2 skimmers and in floor cleaning system - how many returns would one expect? I'd really appreciate any proposals or approximations from those in the know.

    3800 gallons? That would be 12' x 10' x 4' deep. Either a typo or a math error, I think.

It is about 19' X 9' with a very small tanning ledge and spa within those dimensions. A courtyard dipping pool.

Normally two returns would be perfectly adequate.

I'm not positive but I think those in-floor systems like a lot of flow. That may dictate a pretty good size pump and, subsequently, perhaps an extra return. Your PB should have all the calcs he needs to size that system properly with the in-floor. If you're the PB, you need to speak with the in-floor manufacturer.

I found out we don't need any returns. The system circulates the water and the debris heads to the skimmers and Caretaker drains. We do have one return to use temporarily in an emergency should something fail with the in floor system. I am looking forward to see it up working soon.
