New pool on the way!

During our search for a pool (after getting turned down by our township for an in-ground) we visited several pool stores. We came close to getting a 15x30 from Branch Brook. But, after getting home, I decided to go another route.
A little research got me started in the right direction towards a better pool and better equipment for even less money.

I have the installers list from Branch Brook and several turned me down flat. They would only install pools sold via branch Brook. I did fine 1 who was willing to do it for $1300, sand not included. Decent price?

I have the pool area all level now (did it today with a backhoe and a transit level). Now..I'm getting the stupid notion of installing it myself.....

How do I break it to the Mrs.? LOL

You tell her it will save money if you do it yourself, and she can get her nails and hair done from the savings!

Jim,

Installed a 15 x 30 myself in April. If you've got the site level and cleared that's 90% of the hard work. If you can successfully use a transit, you can successfully do the rest of the job. Your wife will be able to get more than her nails done. Send her to the spa for the day and when she comes home she can swim!

Hi,
I bit the bullet and hired a company to do the install. Tomorrow is the day....
They are going to charge $1145 for the install of my 15X30 non-buttress. It was the best I found (with a few good recommendations).

Here's some pics from the install. Everything went real smooth. I'll have some pics of the finished product tomorrow.

The pool is almost filled now and I'm gong to get the filter running tonight. Wish me luck....
