Default quick question about vacuuming with sand filter.

I keep seeing I need to vacuum to waste. Do I need to vacuum to waste if all I'm vacuuming is stuff you can see along the creases and wrinkles(touch up vacuuming), or can I keep it on filter while I touch up.

I'd use it in filter mode simply to conserve water. If the stuff is so fine that the filter doesn't trap the particles then you can try the DE in the sand filter trick. That trick has been discussed quite a bit but if you can't find a thread, post back and I'll dig one up.

I've never had to vacuum to waste. I, like Poconocs, vacuum in the filter mode. The way I understand it you really only need to vacuum to waste when your pool is really messed up (lots of algae, leaves, dirt, etc.)
