Default Can pucks in a floater bleach the liner?

I guess the title says it all......I'm watching the neighbors' house and their new Intex has bleached areas on the bottom of the liner. I know they use pucks and a floater. Reason I'm asking is because when I go on vacation I'm planning on just leaving the pool covered with some pucks in a floater and would love to avoid the bleached liner thing if at all possible.....

    Thanks! Amy

If enough chlorine gets to the liner, yes it can bleach it.
