How to prep pool for a week away

This is my first year with a pool so still learning. I will be leaving for a week on vacation. The pool will have zero attention while I am gone. I want to make sure my water stays ok. Looking for suggestions.

You might be able to get away with shocking it the day you leave and the day you come back, or you may need to put a couple of trichlor pucks in a floater, but it'll depend on your water chemistry--can you post numbers for pH, alk, and CYA?

Thanks for the quick reply. I only have test strips for now (I know I need a drop kit and intend to get one). The strips show ph 7.5, alk 180, cya 30-50.

With those numbers, I think if it were my pool I would shock with bleach the night before I left, and leave a couple of trichlor pucks in a floater that was tied so it won't float to the edge of the pool. It ought to be okay when you get back, and it won't up your CYA considerably.
