    You need to keep your pool at shock levels testing 3X a day until the pool is clear (no longer cloudy) AND it is holding FC overnight. Then you can let it drift down to 2-4ppm. This may take 2-3 days or longer. The more you test and keep your pool at shock levels the quicker it will clear.

    Double check your CYA reading - it is very difficult to measure anything below like 20ppm - GET a test kit and check it yourself. You can get a 6-way test from Walmart for under $20 - however you really need to get a good one. There is a good one (I have it) in the sister site http://www.poolsolutions.com

    If your CYA is really that low - you need to shock to 10-15ppm, but if it is 50 (maybe you had a typo) - then you need to shock 15-20ppm.
