Default Can I change to a 2 speed pump??

I have a 20K IG pool in Southern California and currently I am running a Purex 2HP WhisperFlow pump. I have 2" PVC pluming and the pump is about 15 feet from the pool. I also have a Hayward pool sweep that runs around the pool when the pump runs. I am looking to install a SWG system and maybe a new pump to try to reduce electric bill a bit. I can get a rebate from the power company to do this to help offset the cost some. My question is if I use the slower speed on the pump would it be able to operate the pool sweep properly? I know it will pump less volume so I would have to run the pump longer to turn over the water but I am concerned about the sweep.

I think you will have to run on high for a couple of hours to make the cleaner (suction side Navigator?) work. You can run on low for the balance of your run time. I think the generic formula for 2-speed is you get 1/2 the volume at 1/3 the cost of running it on high.
