Navigator stuck on main drains

I turn main drains off when vacumming with my navigator. The drain's cover is probably 1/2- 1" tall. The cleaner always gets hung. What products have ya'll used to fix this?

look up "smart-ring drain cover" ( by maytronics & smart pool) on the internet;
this may or may not work as I don't know what a navigator functions like ( pressure, suction...?)
