    Default Skimmer install

My pool came with vague instruction when it comes to skimmer and return install. I have the double sided skimmer gasket that attaches to the opening in the pool wall.
Is this all that is required?Where does the liner fit into the picture? From
my instructions, I see the sequence of parts, from inside the pool to outside,as
skimmer cover plate,Liner, inside of double gasket,Pool Wall, outside of skimmer gasket,Skimmer body.Does this seem right? I thought there would be some sort of gasket between the skimmer cover plate and the pool liner, but my instructions don't show or mention one.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi John, you got it right. The one piece gasket is made to protect the wall from rust. The only gasket truly needed to seal a skimmer or return is one between the liner and wall. The two gasket systems use one against the faceplate and one against the skimmer.

They all seam to work just fine. The one you have will protect the wall the best over a long period of time.

    Best of luck, Dennis
