    Post Borax test?

Before I was introduced to this forum, my local pool store sold me hundreds of dollars of "optimizer" (Borax) which was part of my algae eradication because my SWG was set at 0.05% from the time the pool was started (the technician's advice). Now, with regular use of the PS234s, I am keeping all of the parameters balanced, but am wondering how to know if or when I might ever need to add Borax.

Is there a test kit for this?

I use the AquaChek borate test strips...IMHO, they are accurate enough to determine if you have 30-50 ppm borates in the water and they are pretty inexpensive.

Thank you, Evan. Your thread on "the great tetraborate experiment" is what prompted me to post the question. Like you, when I used the borax I noticed a silkiness to the water and a bright sparkly appearance.
