salt water generator

After reading this forum we converted our pool from soft swim to a salt water gernerator. The pool water is clear and all my numbers are within range. I cannot belive how smooth it went (80 gallons of clorox probably helped).

I can not find any information on adding algecide. I know I cannot add the old soft swim algecide but do I need any at all? So far the water is crystal clear but I do not want a problem from lack of knowledge. We do add optomizer something that worked really well with soft swim.

So Algecide yes or no and if so how much. We have a 20X40 IG grecian pool.

No, I think. If you check Poolsolutions.com, they recommend no algecide except one (in some circumstances) If you read on that site, it certainly doesn't endorse algecides. Says it can actually mess up your water.

once you have your SWG properlly set up and your water properly balanced you will find that not only do you not need algaecide, you will possibly never need to even shock your pool!
