my wife appreciates that i am willing to try just about anything once (roofing my 3700 square foot root with 4 valleys, renoing my kitchen, building my pool shed, chopping down trees, raising my garage roof where it sank, repairing my water heaters).but she also appreciates that sometimes trying to do everything can cost me more than i would have saved..sometimes, a lot more

i wish i could do that...if it didnt' cost me a fortune for heat, i could actually go here until december before the snow really flies and it gets to -20 celcius..my ngas bill when i ran the heater into october got up to 300 for a month (heater ends up running at leat 12 hours a day at that point). i have a new heater now to replace my 23 year old beast so hopefully it's a bunch more efficient and will allow me to have a bit longer season!

Anyone found an online source for the "duck plugs"?

Most all the online sites sells them. But they don't call them Duck Plugs. For instance, intheswim calls them One-Way Winter Pool Valve. Just browse for products listed on sites under the winter pool closing section.

It was late I guess when I posted that.. Anderson allows you to buy them from them but they have a $45 minimum. I'm always pressed for time like everyone else so I went ahead and bought a handful. Now to figure out dealing with my skimmer!!
