mustard?...sorry long post

I think I have mustard, it was slimy yellowish. I couldn't sleep last night so I re-brushed it again. This am. the water looks pretty much clear/normal. We got a ton of rain last night and I vacuumed and pumped it into yard since I had to drop water level anyhow. I found the post about distilled water and I checked the Cl this am. and it is 6-7, however accuracy????? I am planning on going to PS to get more Cl this am. and will have them check it. Since water is clear should I keep the Cl at shock level? I will not let them sell me any Cu based algicides. We live in SW Florida and there is a storm looming in the Caribbean so I am off to do hurricane prep searching on this wonderful site. I am betting the answer involves bleach. :-)
