Correct info. No need to remove sand. Don't forget to take the pressure gauge inside as it still has water in it and freezing will destroy it. I take my entire multi-port valve assembly inside and that lets me inspect the sand and gives me ports to connect a shop vac for blowing the pipes. Oh, and for some on this forum I have never found a problem with the sand.
