Default Dry well to help drain off well water....

we have problems with ground water around our IG pool in spring and after heavy rains in the summer. For years we have used a siphon pump placed behind the liner to remove it when necessary. Over the past couple of years, we've noticed that some new pool installs have a dry well set up close to the perimeter of the pool, and its covered over with a cover similar to the skimmer cover. We were wondering if we could dig a hole just outside of the cement apron around our pool, place in a large plastic tube liner, fill part way with stone and use this to drain ground water away from behind our pool. Has anyone done this? I think it would be about 3-4 feet away from the edge of the pool. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or input!

Normally such dry wells are placed in the backfill for the pool, which is where the ground water tends to accumulate. It would probabl depend on your soil type whether one adjacent to the pool like that would help.

I have one under the deep end of the pool and I can valve it in to the main circulating pump and pump it to waste to remove that water than would otherwise get behind the liner.
