No backwash procedure on Jandy filter

Ok, I allow myself one dumb question per week and this one will take me out through November of next year. ;-)

I hear talk about backwashing filters. But I can't find anything about backwashing in the instructions for my cartridge filter. It's a Jandy CS type. I do take the cartridges out to hose them off about once a month. Am I missing something?

You don't backwash cartridge filters...you take out the cartridge and clean it! Backwashing is for sand and some DE filters.
