Air Pillows for inground pool?

Woman at the pool store says air pillows should absolutely be used in Wisconsin Winters for in ground pools.

Also said jugs should be placed in step area.

I told her I have never heard anyone using them for in ground pools.

Is that the general consensus here?

Pillows are good for standard covers. They help support them. They are not necessary for safety covers, either solid or mesh.
