    Default first year on BBB

Ok, So I have one of the infamous test kits and I'm about to open up my pool this week. I have very general questions.

Is there a specific order in which I should adjust my values. I read a lot of posts and am confused by how the values interact.

What are the desired TA and PH for a vinyl lined IG pool?

Is ther an optimal value for CYA? I am confused by the sliding scale I see here that describe chlorine requirements in terms of CYA level.

I have tried searching, but it has only added to my confusion.

Sorry if I'm asking dumb stuff!!

My pool is a basic 20x40 with 9.5 foot deep end inground vinyl

PH needs adjusted first to ideally between 7.4-7.6, although anywhere between 7.2-7.8 is OK. Also, you need to get your chlorine level to an appropriate level based on your cya reading. You can actually work on your cl and your ph at the same time. I do it all the time. Most of us agree that cya between 30-50 is fine and thus your chlorine should be maintained between 3-6 ppm. A good TA reading is typically between 80-125. Hope this helps you get started.
