Default Procedure after vacuuming to waste

After you vacuum to waste are you supposed to rinse or backwash before going back to filter mode? I vac'd to waste today for the first time and then went right to filter and the water was nasty going into the pool. Hopefully that was due to me not rinsing in between.

If you vacuum to waste you should be able to just go right back to filter. After you backwash you should rinse for 30 seconds before going back to filter.

Nicole, you go right into filter. However, after you're done vacing, let the filter keep wasting to get all the 'stuff' out of the vac line and the skimmer line - though it sounds like your filter is bypassing - although it may have just been a little bit that went into the return line when you changed the valve position.
