Well, sometimes I run mine all day other times I run it only at night. When it gets really hot outside (95-105 degrees) I run my pump only at night, usually from 9pm to 9am. If they are only going to be gone for a lweek or so just it run. IMHO

I vacuum my pool when it looks like it needs it. If I see stuff floating or on the bottom I'll vacuum.
