Adding borax

I became impatient and decided to add some borax to the pool (I broadcasted it in deep end and some in shallow). I have since learned on another site to only add it through the skimmer. What happens if I broadcasted it?

Nothing, it will just dissolve, it is just easier to put it in the skimmer.

Mine went slowly into the water in front of the fountin. I don't think it hurt my Intex frame pool. In front of the fountin with the filter running is where I put everything except the cya and I've added mine this year with 6 pucks. Last year I did the cya in the sock trick. kimrst
