Default Two questions (aqualuminator and also ladder mat)

    1) Is it possible to put the aqualuminator on a timer? Not sure if this can be done because of the way the on/off switch works.

    2) Is having a mat under the ladder a must? We have a resin ladder in the pool which does not have a sharp bottom.

Can't answer your question about the light on a timer. Somebody else will be along who can answer that one. But, about the mat under the ladder -------you do not have to have one if your ladder is totally smooth on the bottom. Mine is smooth and I do not have it on a mat. I have had the same ladder for about 6 years. When I replaced my liner last summer, the place where the ladder had been was fine. Now with the new liner, I again do not have mat under it.
