Default Convert a Polaris 165 for above ground use?

Howdy! I just got my hands on a Polaris 165, new in the box. I have an 18' above ground pool. The box says the 165 is for inground pools. Can I convert a Polaris 165 for above ground use?

The main difference between the two units seems to be the extra hose and eyeball fittings included with the 165. Although the parts in the unit have some dfferent part numbers I don't think there is any real difference between the two. It's worth giving it a try!

It's mostly hose length and I think the 165 is more robust. Cut the hoses to the suggested length for you pool and enjoy it!
