    Default polyquat question

I bought some polyquat earlier this year. I use the BBB method exclusively and have great success. I run my CYA around 70-80 as I use less FC daily.
My question is I would like to use the polyquat as a second defense.

    Here are my postings
    FC 11
    TC 11
    PH 7.2-7.4
    ALK 90
    CYA 70-80

How much poly should I use? And what intervals should I use? I see sign of algae every once in a while when there is low use( no one stirring up the pool) or we go away for a few days. Brushing takes care of that but,,

How much should I use for 22,000 gallon IG vinyl pool and how much will it drop my FC so and how long does it take to drop the FC

    Thanks in advance...Mike

    Default Re: polyquat question

I use polyquat and it works great the couple of times I have had algae blooms - due to my neglect.

I have a 27,000 gal pool and the maintenance dose is 6 oz per week.

I think I started with a full quart the first time. Truly it kills algae without any apparent side effects that I have noticed. I did not notice any change in chlorine consumption.

I am not sure that the maintenance dose is necessary. I have found consistent chlorination (adding bleach religiously) to the be the best defense.
