Pool has nice, greeen tint to it?

Without a test kit and some numbers we can look at it, everyone, including you, is guessing at your issue. That's what Michael is saying above...post up some test reults and we can all help

Um....sorry, but is there a heater in your set of equipment?
If the green is as a result of copper eroding from your heater, the last thing you want to do is to shock it, as it may allow the copper to stain your pool. Some metal treatment and clarifier may help clean it up. Maintain your filtration though.
