OTHER use for ph test

anybody know if i can use my pool ph test kit for testing soil ph ?

The pH range is not usually correct for soil testing. A different indicator is needed.

I am sending my soil in today to my local extension service.
They bill me after they are done when they send me the results and recommendations. It's $6.00 for the basic test or $10.00 for the other test that has more info.
We want to start a vegetable garden/ berry bushes and fruit trees.
Too bad I couldn't use my pool test kit.
But $6.00 is cheap to give me a good leg up on my garden.
