    Default Winterizing

Our AG already is 'swampy' because of vacation and so much heat lately that I've been struggling big time with algae. What do I need to do to just close it down for the winter? If any of you remember, I was the gal a few months back who had emptied her pool last winter not knowing better and let the liner shrink so it, and the pool, collapsed! Not this year!

    Thanks!

Hey Pam, the answer as to what to do is BLEACH!! Get the water up to shock level/ cya and hold it there until you get no cc or cl loss overnight while running the filter 24 hrs/ day. Brushing speeds the process and you may have to do a good bit of vacing and cleaning the filter. See the stickies in the 'dealing with algae' section. Once the water is clear again, you're ready to close the pool
