    Oops. I actually read that the recommended dose is one 1lb coffee can per 5 Sq Ft, not 1 lb of DE per 5 Sq Ft. This means exactly 5.75 lbs of DE for my 38 SF filter as you posted. Perfect.
    This is what I'm gonna do.
    Since we're at it: What do you think about BioGuard’s Sparkle Up filtration aid added to the DE? I suspect it's a waste of money.

    It worked. I cleaned my green pool with heavy shocking, many backwashes and refills with DE up to par, not missing a single pound.
