Default Recent Baq to Cl Conversion... Time for Cl chemicals!

    Hey all -

I just completed a conversion to Cl from Baq. I was wondering what levels of Cl and CYA people are running in the New England area, I'm in Southern NH. I plan on doing the pure BBB method here, though I do also have a Calcium question.

My pool is an above gound pool with a heater. I have heard mixed reviews on adding calcium to the pool - only due to the fact that I do have a heater.

Is it still advisable to use Calcium due to the heater, or can I forego it's use due to the fact that my liner doesn't have an Calcium in it anyway?

    Thanks!!!

    Jay

You really don't need calcium in a vinyl liner even with a heater. Just keep your water balanced - keep the ph and alkalinity right and your heater will be fine. Water with a low ph is what is bad for heaters.
