Default Hayward Perflex DE filter - damaged flex tubes

I cleaned my grid (filter nest) with a power washer and damaged the fabric on some of the flex tubes. I taped the damage with electrical tape, but I still get a green plume ejecting out the returns for a few seconds when I start the pump. A new nest is $500 and the filter is only 2 seasons old. How can I test each tube and only buy some tubes instead of a new nest? New tubes are $5 each.

Yes, you can replace the individual flex tubes (I call them "fingers")

You need to unscrew the ~12 bolts that hold the plastic 'tube sheets' together and remove each one and inspect it - replace those that are worn or holey. Use a magic marker to make a mark on the top sheet and the bottom sheet so that you can reassemble it correctly (there are arrows imprinted on the sheets, but a marker mark is easier to see ) When you bolt the sheets back together, BE SURE TO HAVE THE GASKET PROPERLY IN PLACE!

If you need any more 'HOW TO' advice on this, let me know - I can't count the number of times I've had to replace the 'fingers' on Perflex filters
