Yes, I have something similar.

When I designed and had built the base my pool stands on, I hired an engineer to look at and evaluate the base. He recommended a set of French Drains just outside the base, to drain away any serious water flow.

They were a LIFESAVER! Ten days after the pool was completed the brandy-new custom liner split and water was pouring out like Niagara Falls. The French Drains siphoned most of the water away, enough so that my basement wasn't flooded.
