We are in the process of buying a home for fix up. The pool has also been neglected. The pump has not been run and the water has just sat. It looks like the black lagoon.

It has a new sand filter system and the pump is operational. We are not sure what to do next. Do we drain the pool? Or do we shock the pool and try and run the pump? I am not sure how to bring this thing back to life.

The home is in Florida.
