pool prep for paint question

After I scrub my pool with muriatic acid and then TSP,
how long can the pool sit before I paint?
Could I wait 2 weeks or will the etching effect be lost over time?

can anybody help??
What I really need to know is,Does the effect of the acid scrub wear off after a period of time??
Because of work commitments,after I prep the surface I would need to leave the pool for a couple or weeks before I paint the surface...
